Maribeth Derry was raised in Western Pennsylvania and did her graduate work in Theatre Arts at the prestigious Carnegie Melon University. Maribeth has been nominated for 4 Grammy’s, and has won two Emmy Awards, including one for “Best Prime Time Theme” with collaborator, Tom Snow. Her song "I Can Love You Like That” was voted “Song of the Year” by ASCAP and BMI, and was also nominated for 4 Grammy’s, including "Song of The Year" in both country and pop categories.

Along with numerous pop and country recordings, Maribeth has had two top five hits with country group Lonestar, and a number one record with John Michael Montgomery. Maribeth’s Film credits include songs in RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE and THE WEDDING PLANNER, as well as numerous song usages in daytime television.

Maribeth’s focus for the last decade has been on her theatrical writing. She co-wrote a two hour pop/rock opera, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, based on the story of Moses with her collaborator Patrick Leonard. The show ran for three months at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, and featured rock phenomenon Adam Lambert. Maribeth and Leonard currently have several other theatrical works in development.

Over the past 8 years, Maribeth has established a close collaboration with award winning theatre director, Philip McKinley. She has written lyrics for several of his productions, and recently completed a score for THE BIBLE: IN THE BEGINNING, which is currently in development. Over the past 2 years, Maribeth has worked closely with McKinley on projects for Wynn Entertainment, including lyrics for private events and specialty lyrics for the hit show, SHOWSTOPPERS, which is currently running at the hotel.
